Quilty November/December 2018
Happy Holidays, Quilty Friends!
Traveling home for the holidays, friends and family gathered around the table, and showing your loved ones how much you care are just a few of the things we enjoy during the holiday season. Of course, the holidays can also mean tons of stress, lots of activities and holiday parties, and trying to find parking at the mall as we search for the perfect gift. The struggle to find balance is real. But did you know that sewing and quilting are known to reduce blood pressure? That is just what we need this time of year, don’t you think? I am pretty sure dreaming about stitching up the beautiful quilts in this issue works too…
We have so many delightful projects in this issue—there is a little somethin’ somethin’ for everyone. On the cover, Celebration is a reversible table topper with leaves on one side of the quilt and holiday trees on the other side. The charming Dreidel, Dreidel is here just in time for Hanukkah. Oh, Christmas Wreath makes bow ties look merry and bright. Get ready for the shortest day of the year with Solstice Skies.
We have some great articles in this issue too. A Material Difference is all about stitching paper. Inspired by Paper Lanterns, we think that making a paper quilt is just the thing to keep your creativity flowing. Ebony Love is talking tools and we are ready to learn about the latest rulers and stencils in this edition of Love, Your Longarmer. Don’t miss Your Modern Heritage with Diane Harris where she discusses how she began designing quilts and how to create fun Christmas scrap quilts by using your stash.
As 2018 comes to a close, here’s to a festive remainder of the year. I hope you get everything on your wish list!
