Fabric choice, color placement, and size adjustment allow any quilt design to bloom in new ways! Angela Huffman presents her adaptation of a favorite quilt pattern, showing how triangle-squares split by sashing creates a secondary design, how alternating fabric can result in a ‘shadowed’ effect, and how re-sizing elements can yield big design changes.

Angela Huffman loved Sangria by Diane Tomlinson, which was first published in Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting January/February 2014 issue. Angela’s color palette took the quilt in a completely different direction. Angela’s version appears in the 3400 series pattern eBooklet and Love of Quilting January/February 2020 (available December 2019).
