Cutting Instructions
(cut in order listed)
Assorted cream prints
cut 1 set of:
2 matching squares 3 7/8˝ x 3 7/8˝
cut 4 sets of:
4 matching squares 2 3/8˝ x 2 3/8˝
Medium blue print
2 squares 3 7/8˝ x 3 7/8˝
4 assorted prints—cut from each:
1 square 4¼˝ x 4¼˝
Pink print
1 square 6½˝ x 6½˝
Making the Block

- Draw diagonal line on wrong side of cream 3 7/8˝ square. Place marked square on medium blue 3 7/8˝ square, right sides together (Diagram I). Sew ¼˝ seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Open and press to make 2 pieced squares. Make 4.

- Draw diagonal line on wrong side of each of 4 matching cream 2 3/8˝ squares. Place 2 marked squares on opposite corners of assorted print 4¼˝ square, right sides together and aligning raw edges (Diagram II). Sew ¼˝ seam on each side of marked lines; cut apart on marked lines. Open and press small triangles. Place a marked square on assorted print corner of each unit, right sides together. Sew ¼˝ seam on each side of marked lines; cut apart on marked lines. Open and press small triangles to complete 4 flying geese. Make 4 sets of 4 matching.

- Sew together 4 assorted flying geese to make pieced strip (Diagram III). Make 4.

- Referring to Diagram IV and watching orientation of flying geese, sew 3 rows using pieced squares, pieced strips, and assorted pink 6½˝ square. Sew rows together to make Gosling-Go-Round Block.
