Rows of little bitty blocks in bright colors will make a festive addition to your holiday decor. Though only a few of the rows are specifically Christmas-themed, the overall effect is one of celebration and joy. For even more fun, intersperse a fussy cut strip of a fun lengthwise Christmas border print, like Anissa did, to give the design even more charm.

The color placement in this design is mostly random, but there are a few places where it’s very specific and integral to the look of the quilt. The star blocks all have matching star points, for example. The log cabin blocks are all exactly the same coloration, and the trees are made with assorted greens exclusively. Our instructions follow the color placement in the quilt pretty closely, with fabrics broken up into assorted brights, assorted greens, turquoise, novelty print and multicolor stripe.

The fussy cut print strips from the Holiday Tweets collection by Kim Schaefer for Andover fabrics really put the cherry on top of this cute quilt design, but luckily there are a lot of border stripe prints to choose from these days, so if you can’t get your hands on this collection it could easily be substituted with another stripe print or just a favorite holiday print. The beauty of row quilts is the way they can be easily adjusted to suit every style.
