Most art quilters love color. Some of us need color, especially during cold winter months and rainy seasons. And who hasn’t used color is some form to cover up a mistake in a project or create a new opportunity? Sometimes we use an infusion of color to shake us out of a rut or established routine.

We were enchanted by the response we had to this challenge and impressed—as always—with our readers’ work! Thank you for your continued submissions to our Reader Challenges—your work brightens our inbox and expands our artistic minds. It was difficult to choose from the entries we received—but, with that, we are pleased and proud to announce the finalists for this challenge!

Next Steps for Finalists

  • Finalists’ artwork must arrive in our office by March 20, 2020; see our shipping address below. Send both the altered and unaltered/original cloth.
  • Be sure to label both pieces of cloth with your full name and contact information.
  • For safety and cleanliness, place your entry in a plastic bag before packing it for shipping and include your full return address inside that bag.

NOTE: When received, we will press your cloth, if needed. We will take the utmost care in doing so; using a dry iron and pressing cloth, pressing from the reverse, and using as low a temperature as possible. Pack your cloth accordingly. You are welcome to send a note pinned to your work with thoughts or additional instructions on pressing.
